The Forward For Generations campaign speaks not only to our legacy as a pediatric healthcare leader in South Florida for more than 70 years. It sets us on a course to expand children’s healthcare globally for generations to come.

Redesigning what the brightest future looks like is an extension of our ethos. We’re already one of the most respected standalone pediatric hospitals in the nation. We touch the lives of nearly 500,000 children each year. Children like Marquez, Enya and Jayden, who all had life-changing, life-saving treatment at Nicklaus Children’s. Even more children like them, from South Florida and around the world, need our help.

Here we grow.

Our aim is to grow from being the best children’s hospital in Florida to providing the best programs and subspecialties around the world. We are becoming a destination hospital for patients not only in the US but across the Caribbean and Latin America, as well.

Help us set a new standard for pediatric healthcare via quality programs across our key specialties, including Surgical Care and advancing our four Institutes of Excellence related to the Brain, Cancer and Blood Disorders, Heart and Orthopedics. Surgical Care

Our work has begun. The construction of our new five-story, 127,000-square-foot surgical tower on the main hospital campus is more than impressive. It will house the future of pediatrics: our institutes, research, and collaborative innovations. The Surgical Care tower will include 12 large operating suites to accommodate robotics, virtual reality, intraoperative monitoring, visualization technology, and other innovative surgical equipment, as well as spacious pre-surgical and recovery spaces.

Brain Institute

A child’s brain undergoes complex changes as it develops. Unfortunately, brain disorders are very common — and on the rise nationwide.

The Nicklaus Children's Brain Institute was created in 2001 to meet this growing challenge. Our world-renowned team offers families the expert and compassionate care required to achieve the best possible outcomes for children with neurological conditions.

Heart Institute

Nicklaus Children’s Hospital became the first Florida hospital to perform pediatric heart surgery in the 1950s.

Today, the Heart Institute is the region’s most comprehensive and innovative program dedicated to children with congenital heart disease. Our team is renowned for using emerging technologies that offer the best possible minimally invasive surgical interventions.

Orthopedic, Sports Medicine & Spine Institute

The Orthopedic, Sports Medicine & Spine Institute is one of the region’s largest and most innovative programs for pediatric orthopedic care. Specialties include general orthopedics, sports medicine, scoliosis and spinal disorders, foot and ankle disorders, trauma and fracture care, limb deformities, hip disorders, cerebral palsy, neuromuscular conditions, musculoskeletal oncology, and more.

Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute

The Cancer and Blood Disorders Institute is the largest provider in the region for children with cancer and hematologic disorders. The program is renowned for offering the latest treatments for the full range of pediatric cancers and blood disorders. Each year we engage in 70 or more clinical research studies focused on new cures, treatments, and diagnostic procedures to manage pediatric malignancies.

What is the Forward For Generations Campaign?

This is the most important and comprehensive campaign Nicklaus Children’s has ever embarked on. Our goal is to be the best pediatric hospital in the Southeast and a global destination for children’s medical specialties. Nicklaus Children’s proudly serves as one of the remaining standalone pediatric hospitals in the U.S. We touch the lives of nearly 500,000 children each year. Even more need us. So, we’re dedicated to reaching many more kids, both near and far. We need your support as we push the boundaries of healthcare and transform what a children’s hospital can truly be, for generations to come. Our children and grandchildren are depending on us.

With 70% of our patients insured by Medicaid, Nicklaus Children’s serves a diverse patient family population who need us.
